Hey folks, curious to hear feedback from actual Livewire owners within this forum sub-forum.

Within this sub forum you can begin to create issue specific threads as the needs arise, good luck on your new ride, I personally am interested in your experiences.

Thanks to Roy for building this forum!!

LOL, maybe I should have said "forum"

Probably you have noticed the forum is broken up into sections, one of which is "Specific Model Areas" under which are the various HD model lines, with in each of these ~sub forums~ are a variety of user created topics or threads within which content is posted.

I don't own one either but figured the newbies who might eventually join our forum might be Livewire riders and they will be looking for a place to share information, eventually some of our resident technical folks might be able to assist them with Q&A and some of us old timers that are open to innovation and early adopters of new technology might join in the fun this bike could bring.

Roy has already moved many of the threads which had been previously started in other forums to this area so that newb's can find what has been shared so far.

Again, a BIG thanks to Roy for doing the grunt work!!

Think back to the evolution of the "Traditional" engine, Pan, Shovel, evo, VRSC, TC and now the M8, there has been a lot of animosity among the generations of faithful, sure it's possible (probable) they will take root in a different environment OTOH they might land here.

I saw one in the wild the other day up in Boca Raton. Didn't get a chance to talk, ride was past and gone.

I know next to nothing about the UK other than their roads, cities and byways are geared to smaller and slower vehicles than what we have here. So, maybe the "new study" has some validity in the UK. But I believe such a "new study" done here in the states would not convince me to start buying stock or otherwise investing in electric motorcycles.

Definitely going to continue seeing most of us suburban & rural riders wanting to go on long rides will continue to avoid this bike, but the UK style riders would probably equate to our urban center riders who probably would not venture to far out into the rural wilderness, who knows for sure until they poll folks in NYC, LA, SFO & Chicago

I don't know about "switching to", but definitely "adding to the stable".

If money were no object, like @Pred8er said, I'd love to add an electric bike to the stable. I test rode a Zero FX-S last summer, and it was some of the most fun I've ever had on a bike. That said, the mileage is horrible for anything other than around-town riding/commuting. If I didn't live somewhere that gets nailed with snow and ice ~6 months a year, I'd consider a Zero instead of a second car.

Until battery technology reaches Softail or Touring levels of mileage and charging can be done in about the same time it'd take to fill up with fuel, electric motorcycles will be fringe at best.

I am from UK not sure where they get that info may be its correct maybe not but right now the price of an electric motor bike or car would put me right off.
Another issue is the mileage range also the charging time and lack of charging places absolute bollocks all these environment lovies are .
How on earth will they be able to provide the electric if an electric powered vehicle becomes the norm not enough power stations here in UK cant depend on wind power although we have plenty of that & as for solar power farms we dont get enough sunshine most of the time its either raining or grey as grey can be with the cloud cover .
No thanks will stick with petrol powered until I drop down dead
