Denim Black Questions...

I'm mulling over a new SG as stated in my other post. But, I'm torn between vivid black and denim black. I like both. I like the idea of not having to wash and wax denim black. I'd rather ride than clean it.

Those of you with denim black, what ultimately swayed you to purchase that color? How has it held up over your ownership? I know some guys on here have put lots of miles and such on that color. Does it scratch easy? I remember seeing a post where some guy's lanyard rubbed his bag and created a shiny spot. If you have a lot of bugs on your fairing, are they easy to come off and do they stain if left on for quite a while?

Those of you that didn't go with denim black, what swayed you back over to vivid black? I love shiny paint as much as the next guy, but man, I am so torn between the colors.

I fear that if I get denim black that I will want to black the bike out completely and that costs some serious cash even though I like constrasting colors much more.

I appreciate any input from you guys and I know it's totally up to me in the end, but I've went through the Street Glide pictures sticky thread at least twice now and am still up in the air. This of course, is assuming HD doesn't come out with some awesome 110th color scheme.

Wouldn't it still need regular waxing to protect the finish?
This much I know. You do NOT wax it at all.

@bmcgc - Thanks for the pennies. I tend to ride a lot, as much as I can. Usually 7-9k a year(not a lot to some, but Illinois sucks). I should probably stick with vivid, because scuffed paint would drive me nuts.

Sounds like I better stray from denim black. Hahaha. I've spilt gas on my current bike a couple times. Usually a stray drop left in the nozzle. Thanks for the replies everyone!

I ended up with Big Blue Pearl and couldn't be happier with it. Wanted black until I saw it in person. But I really appreciate everyone's feedback! Greatest forum ever.

Oh man...I rode off the lot with my tongue dragging on the ground after seeing it. Instant love. It looks so damn good in the sun!
