mine comes out of the petcock strait down and bends in thru/between the jugs near the bottom and then bends back up to the bottom of the carb. I dun like the heat it may be getting, even thou it's got a cover over it,,,, is there a better way to run it? maybe up higher or around the back of both jugs? u got pics of yours ??? thanks

Sounds like the same way mine is routed and it's never caused a problem. I even still have the original rubber hose and it looks fine after years of riding in the southwest deserts and Mexico before moving up north.

Most if not all of HD's lines are like that. The reason was, oroginally, the petcock was on the right side. If something happened, fuel ran out uncontrolled, all over the hot engine and exhaust. With it on the left, it's only going to go on the ground.

You can cover it with the couregated black automotive covering like HD does, or replace it with a braided line. Either way, it's ok where it is.

My FXR had a fuel line support that the fuel line ran through to keep it off of the cylinder fins.

thanks for the great ideas,,,,, I was a little worried about it being s close to both cyl the way it was hanging down where the two jugs are the closest,,,, but ,,,, now that I think about it more heat rises and even thou the jugs are further apart at the top, it may even be hotter there,,,
