I have a 2006 RK….. i have installed a set of pre wired controls 16” apes 3 years ago, no other mods.
recently the headlight and auxiliary began to turn on at delayed time, approximately 15 to 20 seconds……it varies. Was doing this for a few weeks. Now recently went on a long trip and after sitting for awhile, they did not turn back on…. Had to ride home with no light, only running turn signals.
After checking the usual..i.e. fuses, relays, ohms, volts i could not find any issues with those, all good. Day later tried again, but this time I noticed the wiring control connection for left side was warm, so started to feel around pin pointed the yellow and blue wires were HOT. With that said the connector on the control side was very hot too….but majority on the side which blue and yellow wire run into.
So seems like that is the issue and what could be causing this? so I’m thinking this is causing the light problems i am having.
thanks in advance

This sounds like a B+ wire is shorting to ground. A dead short will cause the leadlight fuse to blow. Check the headlight plug, they tend to melt from the heat. The Blue and Yellow wires are B+.
