No rear Turn Signals/ Brake Lights

Hello All,

I recently purchased a 16 Street Glide Special and replaced the Handle bars. I bought the wire extension kit for the job. The job went smoothly once the wires were pushed thru the bars.

Put it all back together and started the bike and went for a test ride, much better stance now. However I noticed I dont have rear Turn Signals and Brake lights. I do have power as the rear brake lights are illuminated. The front Turn signals and Head lights work no issue. Took everything back apart made sure no wires were pinched or if I might have switched the placement of connections. Everything was plugged in correctly and in the correct locations.

I checked the fuse box and all amps appear not to be blown (doesnt mean one isnt bad). I did notice something strange when I turn the bike to the accessories ( as far right as the ignition switch will allow) and I hit the Front brake...... the lights ( head light and brake) lights go out.

So what I cant tell is the brake lights stuck on? Why do the front turn signals work and not rear? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds to me like some crossed or shorted wires in that harness extension. If everything was working right to begin with then you changed things, the problem is with the changes !
Wires thru the bars can snag on sharp edges inside and create issues. I think you'll need to troubleshoot each extension wire end to end with a DVM to find the problem. Hey it worked before and now it doesn't, it was something you did ... right ?
