I'd like to attmpt to tinker with the AFR with my powervision.
But I'm unsure how to adjust it. I dont' want to F it up.

It looks like I may have to make th chages on my Computer first, save it to the map & reload it to the bike. Does this sound right?
Its too bad there isnt better documentation for the PV

I have a related curiosity, when you guys with tuners want to make changes,

Are you relying on seat of the pants feel to determine you made a difference?

Aren't there several ways today to accurately measure acceleration that would help you be sure

that your are actually making improvements? My son used to have a G-Tech meter,

my wife got me an I-Phone app that I thought was going to be the same thing but it was not,

I haven't messed with it to see how accurate it is.

Sounds like you're on the right track. I have the Thundermax and have to change the map on my laptop then re-install it on the bike. Try searching this on Youtube, there are some videos for the Thundermax tuner there.

TMax allows real time (live) setting, link and make changes. Then unlink and save changes as a new map.

I haven't had time to really mess with mine. So far just loaded the map I was sent.
From my understanding you need to record a data log and then adjust from there.
I know if you open up the software and do not have the tuner hooked up nothing happens.

From the instruction book:

5. Retrieve Logs that were created from the Power Vision. Connect the PV unit to the PC via a USB cable and start the WinPV software. Use the menu or click “Get Log” to retrieve your log(s) and save them to your computer. Note the name of the log because you will need it later.

6. Configure PV Log Tuner Software. Open PV Log Tuner software and click “Options”.
Set the following parameters:
Stoich Value 14.6
Minimum Hit Count 30
Minimum Engine Temp 185
Maximum Engine Temp 300 (note: In Log Tuner version 1.10, DJ chdg suggested max to 300)
Check the box “HD O2 sensors for correction”

I didnt get an instruction book, mine had a few folded pages from a laser printer with a few instructions.

But before I change what is working fine, I'd also like ot know what exactly it is I'm changing.
What is a Stoich value?
etc.

The full operating manual is available for download on the PV Dynojet site.

When I started tuning on my 11' SG 103, I richened the normal operating range up to like .970 Stoich. That's below what the narrow band O2's will read so it forced the ECM into open loop. Then I started leaning it back out just a little at a time monitoring heat as I went. I'm now back at .982 in the normal range and the o2 sensors will start reading about .977 so now I'm running in closed loop in that area. Mine runs well there, the heat is acceptable, and I get 43 mpg, 2 up on the highway.
