Hello folks,
I just ordered some Progressive 412 rear shocks for my 2020 Iron 1200. I ordered the 12 1/2 inch so it’s an inch taller than the stock setup. I run the S&S Superstreet 2-1 exhaust and it scrapes like crazy on stock suspension. Basically I’m looking for a better ride and some clearance but I’m worried that it’ll look goofy, I debated between going 12 or 12 1/2. Does anyone have a picture of an iron 1200 or even the 883 with 12 1/2 inch rear shocks?

How much do you weigh? If you are running it decent it may not be so much the ride hight as is the rear springs compressing in the corners and making it scrap. The stock rear suspension on these are not the most sporty for a sporty lol I have a buddy about 220 had this problem and he kept the ride hight the same but went with a more race progressive setup and he is good to go.
I am 5’11 and weigh a whopping 140🤣

Remember that if you went with 1" longer shocks you will not get 1" more ride height. The shocks are angled so you gotta use a tad bit of geometry to calculate the actual height you will get. I had a 2019 Iron 1200 (man I miss that thing!) and it never bottomed out or scraped the exhaust, but I had short slip-ons so they are not the same as yours at all. Post a pic of it when you get them on.
It’s an awesome bike it truly is! I had some Vance and Hines Shortshots on it before and it was ear deafening loud so I went with the quieter, catted system lol. When you’re complaining about loud noises at 20 years old you know it’s too loud😂
