Just picked up my friends Super glide at a local shop. The shop changed his oil in the motor & tranny used Amsoil. He then asked me what I use in my Street Glide, I tell him Mobil 1 synth and Redline Shockproof in the tranny. He jumps and says man! that is the worst stuff you can put in your tranny. He says when you drain it for an oil change about 1 quart still stays in the tranny because its so thick, also keeping in there little fragments that should be on the drain plug. These little fragments left behind continue to move around in there through the gears and such. Whadya think?

Well I don't know where this guys coming from , the trans doesn't even take a full quart , let alone leave a quart behind when you drain it.
You want your bike warmed up before you drain fluids anyway. Take it for a 4mi ride 1st .......... if you can , mine turned out to be around 130mi the last time :eek

67Duce is right, it's less than a quart. I've used Redline in the tranny for a few years now with absolutly nothing but positive results. Heck, my 2014 CVO Road King doesn't have me changing the transmission fluid until 20,000 miles. On my 2008 Heritage it was at 10,000 miles. Redline is extremely reliable and a proven gear oil.

Been using it since I first started riding. Haven't ever had a problem. But, well. This is the problem ya run into with a lot of folks. They read something from someone on the internet and they take it as gospel. Even when they've never used it, or if they did, never had a problem with it.
I first put it in my bike at 10 thousand miles, and changed it at 20 thousand. It came out looking brand new and smelled like it did when it went in. I probably could have gotten another 10 thousand miles out of it. My drain plug had a tiny bit of fuzz if I remember - nothing to even speak of.
Obviously you knew he was full of chit cause you brought the question here.

Only issue I've had is that it is a little thick in the winter months making shifting hard till it warms up. My gearbox is much quieter when I use it. It seems to do what it claims to be able to do.
RedLine makes premium products. I have been using RedLine 6-speed transmission oil with shockproof for about 25k miles without any issues. It drains just as good as Spectro or other premium fluids.
It never ceases to amaze me when someone whose qualifications to analyze an oil are zero makes such a factually vacant statement.
The simple truth is that any oil that meets the manufacturers specs will do the job just fine. So you can pretty much disregard the snake oil salesmen and self-appointed oil experts and the local bike shop shamans and use whatever oil is recommended by Harley.

Think he just wants to sell what ever he carry's , Amsoil sounds like. When he doesn't even know the capacity of the trans you pretty much lost me there.

I asked if he did replace it with Amsoil how would he get all the Redline out of the tranny. Now the good part, he would drain as much as possible then run kerosene in the tranny and drive it around a little then drain it, then do it again to make sure its all out. Then I knew this guy is full of chit.

Get him to define "a little." Around the building 5 times? Down the road and back? Up to Alaska?
Have been using that Heavy Duty Shockproof for a long time. Never had an issue with the 3 bikes I have used it in.
Have used it in a locker transfer case, old Chevy Blazer 4WD mudder 400 ci SB.
Have broke all kinds of drive line parts that Locker looks just fine.

At the risk of sounding like I'm backing him up..... The kerosene trick works really well. I've done this on atv's and a couple of graveyard trucks that got water in the gear boxes. Run it for ten min and drain. Anyway that guy is still an asshat!
