Been hearing a rattling/vibration, metal sounding, especially at speeds around 70 and up coming from somewhere in the front. I checked everything up on my jack and I've narrowed it down to the shift lever and or shaft and bushings. the front lever had come loose in the Spring and I probably stripped the teeth some before it gave completely. I was able to tighten it when I got home but there is some slop still. seems to be a little in the shaft as well. I pulled the front and rear off tonight and the teeth are a bit worn on parts of the inner shaft as well as the lever. The were both labelled '1' on the inside so I just swapped the rear to the front, still on the inner teeth but its firm. I don't ever really use the rear but I can get a new (used) lever on ebay for $20 so may. The shaft I will probably replace as well since they're relativel inexpensive also, under $20. I saw one on ebay for $18, aftermarket.
I'm thinking about doing the bushings too since they're cheap enough but the tool to do it goes for $90 and I'll probably do it once. Thoughts?
