"Are you crazy? Sell it before you get hurt!"

Since I bought it, I'm saner than I've ever been in my life. (And I smile more than ever)

My Dad saying I was eff`n nuts when I stopped by on a Saturday to tell him I had just been sky diving.

My Dad saying I was eff`n nuts when I stopped by on a Saturday with my first Harley.

Finding out later from my Mom that he was bragging each of the following Sundays, to anyone at Church that would listen, about what his crazy son had just done. :D

Miss you Dad.

Great thread! My wife doesn't even question me anymore.

Me: "I'm riding to Uncle Brian's in the mid 30's and rain."

Her: (Not even looking up from her book) "Have fun."

I could tell her I was riding to Mars and she wouldn't try and talk me out of it.

I was about twelve and the TV quit, Dad asked if I wanted a new TV or a new motorcycle, the next week I had a new YZ80, I didn't need no Stinkin TV...

Makes me smile to think about because, my Mom hates motorcycles but, loves us anyhow. Even gave up a new RCA so I could have a bike.

"You're riding that thing to Ohio to meet a bunch of BIKERS that you met on the internet? You're CRAZY!"

Five months later she went to Fostoria with me to the Wives Collision. Loved it.

Then Eureka Springs (at least part of the way on the bike!) Loved that.

She's looking forward to Fostoria in January and another trip to ES with many, many more miles.

Every single time I walk out in the garage and my bike is still there it makes me smile a lot. I wanted a Harley for a LONG time and sometimes I can't believe I actually have one.

I also smile riding down the road when it's 30ish degrees and people in their heated cages look at me like I'm crazy because they don't understand why I am actually enjoying the ride.

When my wife woke me up 2 hrs early the day I picked up the bike

She wanted me to have 2 more hrs of anticipatory excitement. She woke me up to Steppin

I love the guys, usually "older" guys, that pull up next to my Road King Classic at a stoplight and roll their window down to compliment my Harley. Regardless whether the bike is dirty with road grime or sparkling clean. They smile real big, nod their head in admiration, drool a little bit and are basically gobsmacked. Had a guy in San Antonio creep along with me for a quarter mile when traffic was backed up, jabbering the entire time. I love it when that happens.

You went to the Sturgis Rally from Columbus Ohio (go bucks!)
"You trailered all the way out there?"........
No way, I rode.......
"Wasn't that a long way to ride?"
It sure was! I loved every minute of it.
"I don't get why you would want to do that when trailering is so much easier
I know you don't get it, I'm sorry you don't

This is greatness.

Them: "I don't understand why you'd ride."

You: "I know."

I love the horrified looks and looks of bewilderment I get when I tell people that I rode my sled to Arkansas, via Chicago. "You know it's faster to go straight to Arkansas from here....right?"

Then I tell them about next years ride. :)

Classic "Long Way Home Syndrome" -- always good for a smile.

( Like riding 1100+ miles to have a beer with some buddies :) )

The thing that makes me smile the most right now is. When my grandson who is three comes over and I'm downstairs and I hear him say.
Hi Nana, where's Papa?
And she says papas downstairs, he comes truckin downstairs and says Papa I'm here, let's play cars. Makes me smile every time.
Or he just hollers out. Papa I'm here.

It will make him smile too . . . . . . some day

Things that make me smile.

No mater where I go riding, be it on the back roads or in town, its amazing how many people of all ages, race, or gender, wave, say hi, or make comments of how great my King looks. When I'm coming down the road, the heads come up with a smile and a wave, cause they know its a Harley comin. Plus I've met a lot of nice people who have a common passion as I.

Things that make you smile?

I told my (79 year old) mother that I bought a new bike. For me pushing 60, she said, "are you still doing that?"
